How to start your journery

Gemstones

Not all engagement rings have to have a diamond as their main focus, there are a myriad of different gems to choose from, and all have their strengths and weaknesses. From the beautiful blue hue of a sapphire, to the deep seductive red of a ruby, pick a gem that speaks to your soul.

Ring Styles: Halo

Next pick the style of ring you love

Halo rings accentuate the centre gem by surrounding them in a "ring" of light, the same way you see your partner.

Where do I go to look at different pieces?

I normally go through magazines, different search engines like google etc, pinterest, to look through heaps of different designs. I also have a program I can show you instore with thousands of different designs. It's always a good idea to do this ahead of time, even if you only find elements of a piece you like, this is really helpful when designing your piece

Budget

It's always good to have a budget in mind, the budget can change at any stage if you decide you'd like to spend more or less, but it gives us something to work with at the start.

What gems represent your love?

Diamonds - Love and Purity

Ruby - Love and Passion

Sapphire - Inner Peace and Beauty

Emerald - Truth and Love

Opal - Faithfulness and Confidence

Tourmaline - Protection and Grounding

Frequently Asked Questions

Thing to do before an appointment

Before your appointment, we recommend doing a little preparation. Consider the following:

  • Preferred style
  • Budget
  • Finger size
  • Any gemstones you would like to include

lab vs natural diamond which one is better?

This is extremely subjective and depends on a variety of factors, I recommend downloading our free diamond buying guide below.

Can I use inherited or sentimental gems?

Absolutely. Many of our clients bring inherited or sentimental gems to include in their engagement rings.

How involved am I in the design process?

You are involved every step of the way. From the initial consultation to final approval, we work closely with you to ensure the design reflects your vision, preferences, and lifestyle.

How long does it normally take?

Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the design. During your consultation, we’ll provide a clear timeframe and keep you updated throughout the process. Generally speaking, once the design has been approved the piece can take 6-8 weeks, but if you have a special date in mind let us know and we'll see if we can accommodate.

What if I’m unsure about the new design?

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to ensuring you genuinely love your piece — not just during the design process, but long after it is complete.

We never rush decisions or pressure you into approving a design you’re unsure about. Instead, we encourage you to take your time, explore your options, and feel completely confident before moving forward.

Even once your piece is finished, our care doesn’t stop there. We take pride in making sure it is everything you hoped it would be, so you leave not just with a beautiful piece of jewellery — but with one you truly love.

Do I buy a matching wedding ring at the same time?

This is completely up to you. We will always try to make the design so a flat classic wedding ring can be worn next to the engagement ring, however sometimes the gems are too large, or the design stops us from doing that. But if you'd like to make the two rings at the same time, so they are matched in every way, we can do that too.

Is a custom engagement ring expensive?

Custom is generally more expensive than buying off the shelf, that's because it is made exclusively for you, the costs are not spread across hundreds of mass-produced items. Every detail is considered, every stone is selected with intention, and every element is crafted to your specifications.

Unlike many off-the-shelf designs, custom-made pieces are typically built with solid construction rather than hollowed settings. This not only gives your ring a more substantial feel, but also ensures greater longevity and makes future repairs or resizing far easier.

We also believe in complete transparency. An approximate price range can usually be provided before any drawings are undertaken, and a detailed quote is always supplied for your approval before we proceed.

The result is a piece designed to last — and to be worn, loved, and passed on for generations.
